While we take every reasonable measure to ensure a safe and comfortable experience, staying on a houseboat involves natural environments and moving vessels. Guests are requested to read and understand the following information.
1. Onboard Safety
All our houseboats are operated by trained and experienced crew members. Basic safety equipment is available onboard, including:
- Life jackets for all guests
- Fire extinguishers
- First-aid kit
- Emergency lighting
Guests will be briefed on basic safety instructions at the time of boarding.
2. Water & Environment
Houseboats operate on natural backwaters, lakes, and canals. Guests must:
- Avoid leaning or climbing on railings
- Supervise children at all times
- Not jump into the water unless explicitly permitted by the crew
- Follow crew instructions during docking or navigation
Weather conditions may affect cruise routes or schedules. In such cases, the captain’s decision is final for safety reasons.
3. Property Care
Guests are requested to treat the houseboat, furniture, fittings, and equipment with care.
Any damage caused due to negligence or misconduct may be charged to the guest.
4. Restricted Items & Activities
For safety and comfort of all guests:
- Smoking inside bedrooms is not permitted
- Illegal substances are strictly prohibited
- Loud music beyond reasonable levels may be restricted
- Cooking by guests is not allowed unless agreed in advance
5. Medical Emergencies
Guests with medical conditions should inform us before booking. In case of emergencies, the crew will assist in reaching the nearest medical facility, but Gokul Cruise is not responsible for medical expenses.
6. Liability Disclaimer
While we follow standard safety practices, guests acknowledge that:
- Travel on water carries inherent risks
- Gokul Cruise is not liable for accidents caused by guest negligence
- Personal belongings are the responsibility of the guest
7. Compliance with Local Regulations
All cruises follow Kerala tourism and local maritime regulations. Guests must comply with instructions given by the crew and authorities when applicable.
